Reliable leather-friendly non-leather bar for tapering on
A tastefully brick-walled and possibly overlit ground-floor space with a determinedly darkened basement, Prinzknecht has a slightly provincial feel in terms of both music and clientele. But it's great as an early-evening start to a night of serious cruising, with a 2-for-1 drinks deal for two hours on Wednesdays. Gets very buzzy out front in the summer, especially the Folsom Europe fetish street party. Owned by Kalle Klatt (with Michael Sonntag), whose empire also includes adjacent bar and shop Connection, established and nearby leather haunt Mutschmann's and the now-defunct SM hotel the Kinky Tulip.
