From ABBA to Zappa
A pint-sized, friendly and relaxed "80s-style" bar devoted to radio pop of yesteryear, with walls covered in 7" vinyl sleeves and a running jukebox of German-provincial Schlager favourites to international hits. Redgold 1 is an antidote to the more scene bars in the area, preferring a more neighbourhood feel despite being in the gay epicentre. It's also a good place to nip in for quick takeaway bottles of beer during the heaving Folsom street party and other such events when the throng of the more buzzy bars can make for annoyingly slow service.
