The band is a way to learn about each other and the world around us. Their line-up consists of drums, bass and guitar. Their music is influenced by mid-nineties emo and their love for punk and pop melodies shines through their songs, that are sometimes loud and furious and then fragile and quiet. Sometimes contemplative and often searching for a place to rest and feel at ease. Their lyrics are about being in friend love, where it’s okay to show the rough edges, allow yourself to be vulnerable and - despite or perhaps because of this - feel like you are in good hands. The songs that friend crush allow to become loud and angry deal with their own experiences with classism and transphobia. With not being able to find one’s place, not being taken seriously and appreciated. And the loss of self-worth that these experiences bring with them. What friend crush try to do with their music is to allow themselves to be vulnerable. Not trying to be perfect, but rather daring to do something new, encouraging each other, trying to take each other seriously. After moving to Finland, i finally found a place called home, it was time for a new project and still breathing was born!
