Electronic Music Through Movies is back, in a new location.
Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) is one of the greatest science fiction films of all time. Although the soundtrack is classical, HAL9000, the computer robot antagonist is the electronic music-related aspect. HAL's rendition of "Daisy Bell" references the most famous moment in the history of Bell Labs when the IBM 704 computer was programmed to sing the same song. (it was in actuality the first song ever "sung" by a machine)
