Hotel Sarotti-Höfe (Closed Permanently)

A 31-room, relatively inexpenisve boutique hotel in Kreuzberg, opened in 2005, more than 120 years after the building served as the home of Sarotti chocolate manufacturers. Decor could be described as neo-traditional, with conventionally manly furniture and cleaned exposed-brick walls leftover from its days as a factory. No star rating, but somewhere between 3 and 4. Gay-wise there's a Sarotti-Höfe café-bar here on the premises, with cocktails after dark. [see entry] Located on the buzzy Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg, not far east of Schöneberg.
