Roses Bar

(22 Ratings)
Kreuzberg at its kitschiest

Fantasy space luring hardcore drinkers and clubbers with its relentless sparkle and twinkle, OTT decor, plushness and overall disco-ball sensibility; the interior feels like a weave of non-stop gift-wrapped surfaces — a bit like a younger version of Kumpelnest [see entry]. Neither hip nor unhip, Roses is a magnet for artists and DJs and anyone with after-hours stamina — a place where anything is possible. Whatever that means. Convenient for nearby Möbel-Olfe [see entry] on a Thursday.

Racisme

Mt friend who is originally from Indian origin was just thrown out of the bar. An elderly drunken man falsely accused him to steal a pint. The bartender and bouncer felt immediately this man. We were three people. They did not listened to us. I recommend everyone off to visit this bar.

A real must

I got to Roses by an invite from the owner, which invited me based on a conversation I held with friends about Rocky's Horror Picture Show and he over heard! As a tourist STRAIGHT I didn't know where I am coming to, but once I stepped in - I felt the great atmosphere. Everyone was VERY nice. Gays, lesbians, cross, straights (I think we weren't the only straight bunch there, but didn't care). The prices were VERY low (from what I saw in the five days in Berlin) and the bar is working great. Will certainly visit again next time I'll be in Berlin. It is a MUST for ANYONE!! (You don't have to be gay to enjoy it :-)) )
