EASTER BERLIN HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Europe's largest and most vital leather and fetish festival, started in 1974 and still as tough as old boots, with minimal signs of submitting to trends. For decades this was a leather-only event, but today’s incarnation embraces the full whack of fetishes, from leather and rubber (and their many variations) and skinhead to the sporty and the naked.
Plus pups.
Cruising on Schöneberg streets and pavements and in the bars — New Action, Scheune, Pussycat, WOOF, Prinzknecht and, in its new location, Mutschmann’s — is what it’s all about. And while less properly fetishy and leathery than it once was, the weekend centrepiece SNAX party at Berghain still pulls in thousands of punters (mostly harnessed hunks) on heat.
Other highlights include Olaf Hartmannsgruber’s Berlin Cigar Men events, BLUF gatherings, fetish boat and bus expeditions, a special Leather Social, a BOG Biker Party (BOG = Bikers ohne Grenzen/Bikers without Limits), a Dungeon Party, a Playground Open Air Fetish Market and, on Sunday, the annual Mister Leather Berlin competition (no longer the German Mr. Leather contest) and PiG party.
Easter Berlin is staged by fetish organisation Berlin Leder und Fetisch (BLF).
