A relatively inexpensive French restaurant started in early 1980s by Prussian Berliner Bernhard Heising and his wife, who dubbed it "die gute Stube in Berlin“ (the good parlour/room in Berlin). The three- and four-course menus are reassuringly limited, with no more than four or five options per course — all very home-made and delicious. Decor is trezz old-fashioned and elegant, in a special-occasion kind of way. Located ever so close to gay Schöneberg, if worlds away from the cuisine normally associated with the gay ghetto. The restaurant closes when the last customers leave. U-Bahns: Augsburger Straße and Kurfürstendamm.
