SAR Berlin (Sven Appelt Rubber)

No ratings yet
Rubber's turn for the stylish

Minimalist and stylish domain of rubber/latext designer Sven Appelt, the former creative force behind RubAddiction [see entry]. Berlin-born Appelt, who in 2017 parted ways with RubAddiction partner Alexander Nemitz in order to stretch latex in more experimental directions, originally made his mark with clear rubber and tattoos. A now-signature creative use of colour and patterns followed. A latest technique developed in 2019 involves rubber that changes colour and intensity when exposed to water/sweat and certain types of light. This shop, located seconds from Bülowstraße U-Bahn and a ten-minute walk from Nollendorfplatz, opened July 2018.
