A generously sized and tastefully brick-walled space with a determinedly darkened basement, Prinzknecht has a slightly provincial feel in terms of both music and clientele. But it's great as an early-evening start to a night of serious cruising, with a 2-for-1 drinks deal for two hours on Wednesdays. Gets very buzzy out front in the summer, especially during Folsom Europe in September (and at Easter). Owned by Karl-Heinz 'Kalle' Klatt, whose CV also includes the adjacent Connection sex shop/cinema and neighbouring Connection club, and nearby established leather haunt Mutschmann's [see entries], plus the now-defunct SM hotel the Kinky Tulip. Opened 1999.

Good looking guys 30-plus
If it weren't for the German spoken, this beautifully decorated bar could be located anywhere in the US from Seattle to Miami. But fortunately its is not... it is in the heart of Berlin. I call this place my favorite Berlin beer joint because the varieties are wonderful, Ahhh, yes the guys... Lots of handsome, manly, friendly men, and best looking ones seem to be partnered. Shucks!
