Rheinhessische Weinstube & Café Formerly: Heuriger Gustav

No ratings yet
Regional Rhineland food and wine in the Motzstraße

Small, intimate and gaily located restaurant run by Hans Hess, who in October 2016 opened this sibling outlet of his (now-closed) Café Restaurant Hans in Kreuzberg. Hess serves the food and wine from the wine region of Rheinhessen in southwestern Germany, near Mainz, where he grew up, the son of a winemaker. The menu can feature Sauerbraten (German pot roast), dumplings, red cabbage, schnitzel, soups and salads, complemented by local wines. Some home-made cakes too. Located at the somewhat quieter end of the Motzstraße, 30 seconds from Nollendorfplatz U-Bahn. Closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and sadly not open for lunch.
