Schloss Charlottenburg (Charlottenburg Palace)

(1 Rating)
Gays love palaces

Berlin's grandest surviving royal palace is a baroque/rococo-era structure built for the Hohenzollern family and then elaborated on, with its gardens remaining a major attraction along with its collection of paintings including landscapes Caspar David Friedrich and 18th-century French works (Watteau, Chardin). Just across the road you'll find Museum Berggruen — with works by Picasso, Klee, Matisse, Magritte, Braque and Giacometti — and Bröhan Museum, devoted to art nouveau and art deco. And like many Berlin landmarks, it was not immune to Second World War bombing. U-Bahns: Sophie-Charlotte-Platz and Richard-Wagner-Platz.
