Boyberry Berlin Formerly: Tom's Bar

Barcelona sex gear emporium Boxer arrived in Berlin in December 2013. A bit more than ten years later, in March 2024, in the Motzstraße corner space occupied by the onetime-iconic Tom's Bar between 1982 and February 2024, along came Barcelona-bred Joan Igual with his Boyberry bar concept, which he originated in Barcelona in 2005, then took to Madrid in 2013. Think cabins and glory holes, underwear, speedos, naked, darkroom – the makings of on-the-spot cock action (and for a younger, testosterone-fueled clientele). Not fetish-friendly. Igual, who moved to Berlin in 2020, was something of a gay mover and shaker in Barcelona, where he served as vice-president of l’Associació Catalana d’Empreses per a Gais i Lesbianes (ACEGAL). The Barcelona Boyberry started as a video store with a sizeable darkroom zone out back, evolving into the full-on cruising playground it is today. Igual now has put his stamp on the rather tired Tom's space, introducing big see-through windows to the Motzstraße gay catwalk (hmmm...) and installing multiple cabins. In short, sex shopping in the Spanish/Catalan style. Fittingly, there's a cash point (ATM) right out front.  Opened 22 March 2024.
