Very fine, no-nonsense gelato from top ingredients, with attention to detail. Opened April 2017 by affable and enthusiastic Gunnar Brückner, who has neatly translated his background in international multilateral organisations into something quite yummy, here drawing on not only regional but ingredients but herbs and fruits and nuts from around the world. His repertoire of 100 varieties of gelato (from pistachio to white asparagus) includes flavours drawn from ingredients brought to him by customers returning from as far afield as Nepal and Brazil. His old-fashioned ice cream case allows for just 12 flavours at a time, and the selection changes daily. Brückner is keen to maintain a local presence, which explains why he's named his business after the German word for a city neighbourhood. And his prices are cheaper than at other gelaterias.
